Brian May is a little nuts...

Not that it's a bad thing.

The song, Save the Badger, Badger, Badger, was recorded by May and the internet entertainer Weebl and features the vocals of Brian Blessed.

It has made the top 40 in the iTunes download chart and is the most popular track in the iTunes store top 10 rock chart.

Blessed, who played Prince Vultan in the 1980 film Flash Gordon, which featured a soundtrack by Queen, said: "Brian May is absolutely inspirational and together we will beat the dark forces and save the badgers."

I like the beat and I can dance to it.
I give it an 8.

I think the correct Queen lyrics is 'I'm going slightly mad...'

That would be Brian May, PhD, MBE. (Or is it MBE, PhD.)
This is one seriously talented dude. He took a three decade break from his studies to do the music thing, and then polished his thesis up a bit and submitted it. ( "A Survey of Radial Velocities in the Zodiacal Dust Cloud") After three decades, and improvements in instrumentation, the work is _still_ cutting edge.

Others have pointed out that May should be the real "Buckaroo Banzai", rather than Weller, but for the interesting fact that Weller is just finishing up _his_ PhD thesis, (And anyway, May looks uncannily like Isaac Newton...)

Actually there could be a hell of a fun movie there- "Buckaroo Banzai In the Zodiacal Dust Cloud". They could even get Danica McKellar as the love interest, that is, once she finishes _her_ PhD thesis...

Apologies for being interested in the actual cause... but does anyone know what the current status of the campaign is? I can't seem to find anything newer than early 2012 relative to a Badger cull threat.
The campaign's site has not been updated in over a year as far as I can tell.

Wow... if Meat Loaf is for it, I need to re-think my own stance...
