OT: NFL Talk, V. Young and Tebow cut
#1
I am guessing that both of their NFL careers are over. They both can run but neither can grasp complicated offenses and read defenses to throw effectively.

Some supposedly popular talking head said Tebow could guarantee himself a contract if he said he was gay.

Just coaching systems that don't know how to take advantage of their skill sets. The Harbaugh's could go to Super Bowls with either of them. [edit] Though I do recognize their accuracy issues.

Why did New England get him if he was so liable to be cut?

The Pats had zero risk in taking on Tebow as a third string quarterback.

His contract had no guaranteed money, so they have no financial liability in letting him go.

He's a free agent now so we'll see if a 4th team wants to give him a shot.

The NE coach helped draft Tebow at Denver.

Looks like Tebow is at the end of this career - if he can find a way to be a different NFL player, he'll find a team.

Whether that's at a position besides QB is the question.

Yeah, Josh McDaniels, right?

I get the NFL has changed and there isn't really a stigma for a running QB anymore. Unless you are Michael Vick and you refuse to slide (RGIII needs to take note as well). However, there's an athletic QB who is mobile and a running back that happens to sort of, kind of be able to throw. The latter is Tebow. He really has zero chance at success in the NFL.

I never was a Vince Young fan, but he is by far a better QB than Tebow ever was. Although, Vince Young was one of the few QBs with the Eagles to basically show no promise during the Andy Reid era. Oh well.
