Old Roku was acting up so we got a new one, Roku 2 XS. I had it for about 5 days. We were watching a movie and it just restarted itself.
Is it worth it to return it and get a replacement, or they all do that and I need to learn to live with it?

When you asked if you should consider getting an Apple TV, I think you were on the right track…

Mine never did that, however it did sort of "lockup" last week. I pulled the power to reset it.

Space,
Mine has never done that. I find the NetFlix app on the Roku is flakier than the NetFlix App on the AppleTV2.
If while watching a movie on NetFlix via the Roku and I fast forward or rewind, no problems. But, if I do it again immediately, i.e. I went too far and have to back track or go forward, the app stops playing the movie. I have to start it up again. This doesn't happen on the AppleTV and I can't say with certainty if it's the NetFlix App or the Roku2.

OK, I will see if Amazon has more in stock and if so, I will ask for a replacement. Thanks all.

I have two Apple TVs and four Rokus. I've had the Rokus reboot before. Otherwise, all have been working for at least two years. The oldest model is going on five years old. Knock on wood.
Apple TVs still work as well, but they get far less use.
