I get 6 hours usually, but can get by over the long term with 4 as long as it covers the 0100-0300 window.
If I miss those two hours (e.g. when I take call) I am a zombie the next day.

I have been thinking that it would be better to just slip back in with a little explanation (posted in another thread), but I do want to thank you and everyone else who expressed that they were glad (or something like that) I have gotten back to posting here. I appreciate it.

I get seven to eight hours.
Sleep once, wake twice.
That's where the dreams are.
Quiet and darken your room.
You'll sleep longer.

Between five and six hours a night, including weekends. About once every two months the cycle catches up and I crash. That is happening this week - I've been falling asleep around 8pm and waking at 4am. It will last 2-3 nights, then back to the normal 5-6 hrs.

7, want 10, pain won't allow that. I get five straight, then 2 out of the next 4 hours I lay there....very frustrating, even with Ambien etc

I'd make a sarcastic remark like "I'll sleep when I'm dead" but them some other poster will take this literally and accuse me of wanting to kill people when I fall asleep behind the wheel.

I usually get 7 but I am beginning to think that I need 9. When I was young 6 seemed like plenty but those days are gone.
