So What Happened?
#1
If anything.

I gather there is a new OS X version coming (isn't one every year too many?). Maybe I can skip Mavericks on my iMac, or is that going to be allowed?

But anything else in the keynote? How about a brief summary?

Some highlights of OS X Yosemite and iOS8 were shown.

Some very cool features in both, with some extensibility added to make Macs and iDevices work more seamlessly together.

Developers got a new programming language and 4000 APIs to play with.

Bare minimum, I would download the Mavericks installer from the App Store just to have a copy available. If Apple remains true to form, once Yosemite is released Mavericks will no longer be available for download.

So What Happened?

The Kings won their third straight game seven on the road.

Everything else is secondary.

Yosemite will turn your Mac's display into a touchscreen.

Hah! Not bloody likely. Confusedmiley-shocked003:

Though it wouldn't surprise me if touchscreen desktop hardware were not in the offing. Just imagine 'tired arm syndrome' from reaching out to your iMac screen. . .

Exactly.

It would have value in a laptop with a removable screen to make a tablet/laptop combo.

I think somebody has something like that already but I just don't see Apple making that kind of product.

They don't have a choice but to make this. It's coming. The sooner the better. It makes too much sense. They'd cut off their noses to spite their faces if they don't. You "know" you want this.
