Has eBay been compromised?
#1
Their site is claiming that on May 21st they notified users that their site had been compromised. I never got any message from them, and I have a good email addy with them.

Does this mean that Paypal is also compromised?

Yes, eBay was. No, PayPal wasn't.

I keep getting people trying to reset my password; emails.
I have some popular ebay account names; so this is not NEW NEW... but a FLURRY... many a day sometimes. of people trying to figure out once again how to hack my accounts.
They USED to provide IP addresses, and I always knew who (for most part) was trying to get my ebay account names .

This is what they say:

On May 21, we announced that we are asking all eBay users to change their password. This is because of a cyberattack that compromised our eBay user database, which contained your encrypted password.

I'm always worried about spoofers...

I see that you did on May 21st.

This is not how I should have to get this information.

eBay should have contacted me.

Don't know why you didn't.

I never got an e-mail either, but there was a pretty visible warning on most of the pages when you visited eBay.

I was never sure if their ENTIRE user database was compromised, or if it was just part of it (in which case maybe they only sent e-mails to those users that were compromised).

I actually got the email on May 26th. Maybe they cannot send all emails at once, so you may get yours later. or perhaps it went into the SPAM folder?
