Apple releases Mac mini EMI firmware update to fix USB keyboard issue

Apple on Wednesday released an EMI update for Mac mini, addressing an issue that could in some cases prevent a USB keyboard from being recognized when waking from sleep.

It's also in the Software Update and App Store… depending on what OS you're running.

I've got the Apple wired keyboard attached to my 2012 and haven't had any problems.

(I'll update anyway.)

Hmmm...I'm usually of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school. I have a late 2012 Mini and it's been working fine. I'm disinclined to mess with it in case Apple's fix fixes something else.

I have the same and have never hesitated in updating firmware. There has never been a penalty for me in doing this on any Mac.

It is not a matter of "it's working fine as is" for me. It is one of those "I may wish I had later if my equipment changes or if I want to sell/give it to someone who would benefit by the firmware upgrade. I don't want to rely on memory that it is available but not installed".

App software updates are a different story, especially iTunes.
