He had a hatchet too. Time to villify the tool manufacturers, the lumber industry, and the roofing/siding industry. Oh, and the recreation and wood stove industries.
Oh, and flooring installers.
Heck, go after the Boy Scouts. They use hatchets too.
Any Dow Corning, the makers of Mace. And the National Parks gift shops, who sell bear repellant. Heck, go after the police, because the spray may have been stolen out of an unlocked police car.
Might as well add the auto manufacturers as hit and run or drunk drivers kill. Let's add in brewers and distillers. Don't forget the pharmaceuticals as many use prescription medications illegally.
Or maybe we should lock violent criminals up for good and put people with serious psychological issues in institutions that can help them. Then again, that would be logical.
Only one of the above mentioned devices has as its primary function to kill.

Forget weapon of choice. What the heck is causing people to go into public places and kill strangers?
The media hoisting them onto a deflectionary gun narrative attention pedestal.
How many have been on meds, or off ? You won't hear about it in the media because they make far too much money from Big Pharma.
Mental health services have been flushed down the toilet in the name of pharmaceutical profits. Nice racket to be in if you have a mental health degree or license to dispense, if you're a patient, good luck !

I don't like to jump to conclusions but suicide by cop seems like a possible motive.
That was my thought. Or, he wanted to kill some cops first.
Maybe the guy came to his senses just in time and didn't follow through to kill a bunch of people in the theatre.

Pure supposition on my part, but without knowing anymore details I would guess that armed with an AR-15, he might have been able to injury or kill at least one, generally one of the first on scene.
As tragic as this was, I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Sounds like there were only 9 people in the theatre.

That movie complex shows movies that have been previously shown at first run movie houses which would help explain the fewer audience members.

He had a pellet gun !
He wasn't going to kill anybody with it.
If we're going to to invent weapons let's invent him being a high as a kite pot smoker too without knowing any more if it serves a narrative.

Thus, my point about locking up violent criminals and committing those with mental health issues.
