Downloading stop and start question...

In the old days when your download was interrupted apple would start again where the old disconnected download stopped. Does that happen with OSX? I liked that feature because sometimes my ibook just disconnects and I have to restart.

Well, I started the stopped download and it made another icon but downloaded the rest of the file. Then installed it. I thought it used to just continue with the original started download.....anyway...I'm glad I didn't lose half the file and the program was install however the mac did it !

I noticed that all downloads from Apple whether if it's from Software Update or through iTunes, it begins from the very beginning and NOT from where it left off. It's very frustrating at times. I use Speed Download to do most of my downloads. This app continues from where it left off. It's excellent when the file is huge.
