Does anyone here use Snapchat?

Does anyone here use Snapchat? I've never used it. My kids like it for the goofy face filters while taking selfies. They don't use it for actual "chatting". If Twitter can't figure out a way to make money, how is Snapchat?

Yes, but only to/from my kids.

Absolutely horrible UI.

SNAP IPO @ $17
Opened for trading at $24.

Two nuggets of information to digest...

Snapchat parent company Snap Inc. posted a net loss of $514.6 million in 2016, according to the initial public offering prospectus it filed on Thursday.

Snap also said that it "may never achieve or maintain profitability," as it plans to continue investing heavily in its business.

Wait.. WHAT?!!

My kids use it. They blocked me. Probably didn't want me to see all the 'I'm so drunk LOL" pictures.

I keep telling my wife... I did all kinds of stupid stuff in school. We just didn't have a way to share it with the world. Well, except for polaroid photos stuck on the wall in the dorm. Those were... awkward. Then I reminded her how her brother (my roommate) warned me about my bad reputation....

She still dated me. And married me. Angel

I never cease to be thankful that today’s social media did not exist when I was in school, grade school through grad school. Holy crap, what a disaster that would have been.

This will be interesting to watch. The app is obviously wildly popular among kids (my own included), but from what I've read, there is no foreseeable path to profitability. Instagram on the other hand has seemingly limitless potential, and it duplicated everything SnapChat does in a single update. Not sure what they've got except for early traction that may mean nothing a year from now.

No, I don't use it, and probably will not in the future. However, some of the photo sharing apps of a more serious nature are intriguing.

And, the wife and I will not allow our pre teens to.do so, either. Not sure what good can come out of it.

I use it all the time. Big Grin
My daughter and her BF and I like to send snaps of all kinds of stuff.
I like it for just a quick pic that you don't need to keep forever.
