New 13" MacBook Air in the house!

Best Buy has the 13", 1.6Ghz, 8Gb RAM model for $800. There was a link in an email for trade in offers so
I ran my 2012 MBA through the steps and it said they would give me a $320 for it. Normally I sell my old
ones online but really didn't want to go through the process as it was not in what I call pristine condition.
They looked over it and booted it up, went through some sorta check they do and said the they would give
me a $320 gift card for it so I got rid of an almost 5 year old MBA with 4Gb or RAM and 4000 graphics and
got a new one for $536 with tax. They had the one with the updated processor but I can't see how it would
be worth $200 more for 0.2Ghz more processor. I don't think I done too bad.

It doesn't have a USB-C port that I know of.

Two USB 3 ports (up to 5 Gbps)
Thunderbolt 2 port (up to 20 Gbps)
MagSafe 2 power port
SDXC card slot

The number of ports on the MBA make it much better than the MB in my opinion.

I'm not sure 128 GB of storage would work for me - I like to collect programs! Could a fast SDXC card work like a second drive?

I'm thinking about getting one of these, it's appears to be pretty fast according to someones test listed at
Amazon. I use my SD card slot quite a bit so I'd rather leave it empty. I use my iMac for permanent photo
storage. The most I ever used in my last MBA was about 85-90 Gb's.

The new drive is also 5-10x faster. On the package it says "Speed up to 130MB/s". This claim is valid based to my testing. I used a benchmark program (CrystalDiskMark v3.0.1 x64) to measure the Sequential Read/Write speed of this Sandisk Ultra Fit flash drive on two computers. Here are my findings:

- When connected to a computer with USB 2.0 port:
Sequential Read = 34.8MB/s, Sequential Write = 18.6MB/s

- When connected to a computer with USB 3.0 port:
Sequential Read = 148.4MB/s, Sequential Write = 39.4MB/s
