If I had a dime for every time office wanted to update I'd have a shit ton of dimes.

I heard several people in our company complain about updating something Microsoft. Some are Windoze users, some Mac users. It's not all the same issue, but more than one complained all their settings were gone, and they had to redo them.

Every time you update office, it's like reinstalling. The 2016 "updaters" are just full installers. Painful. But other than that, no reason I've found not to update.

Install the updates!!! The damn thing shipped with serious problems that were fixed with the first update.

I have a laptop from work that I use one day a week when I telework. It's set to auto-update Windows. Many's the time I've logged in and it says I have over twenty THOUSAND updates waiting. I kid you not. Thankfully it usually only takes a few minutes on the i7 laptop.

They're usually security-related. I'd update regularly, as I have zero trust in M$'s ability to keep anything secure.
