Looks good, but I won't buy it for one reason - not enough ports.
This MacBook has one USB-C port with support for:
Charging
USB 3.1 Gen 1 (up to 5 Gbps)
Native DisplayPort 1.2 video output
VGA output using USB-C VGA Multiport Adapter (sold separately)
HDMI video output using USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter (sold separately)

Even at 999 this isn't a terrific deal imo.
Then this is not the notebook you're looking for.
This is still the issue of someone wanting this MacBook to be something it wasn't meant to be.
For me, I'm very happy with it. I didn't get it to do what you apparently want it to do.
There's not much if anything, that the next version will have that will make me regret not waiting, If I bought it a month or three before v.2 shipped, it would be a different story.
Maybe v.3 or 4 will grab my interest.

Im with RAM, wth is it with peeps and "it doesnt have enough ports"... then its not for you?
It would be like saying "corvette, looks good, but I wont buy it, doesnt seat enough people". duh? yeah, your family of 5 wont fit. So its not the right car.

I'll hang onto my mid-2010 12" MBP and keep upgrading the internals...next up is an SSD when prices come down to about 100 for a 1tb.
You are in for a long, long, long wait. If you havent already added a SSD, you dont know what you are missing.
