MR Forum Fit Club: Let's get it started in here
#1

To encourage fitness goals, share experiences, educate and uplift each other.

If you haven't started yet, you are welcome at anytime.

Share as much or as little as you want with the group.

Starting out doesn't need to be a big step, just take that step.

You are worth it.

Remember, falling head over heels can be wonderful and painful.

Last week: 2 upper body workouts. 6 miles of walking.
Next week: 2 upper body workouts, 1 elliptical session.

I finally accomplished a goal of doing 8 unassisted dips. I have been working on for 18 months now with the help of the assisted counterweight. This was tougher for me due to my legs being an area of my body weight's concentration.

For those unfamiliar, the dip machine works your shoulders and triceps. This model below has a platform for resting your knees on and adds counterweight. You can flip the knee platform up to work the machine unassisted.

I don't look anything like this guy but he is showing how an unassisted dip looks.

Yeah, a dip for me involves a bowl and chips. lol

We did go to the gym 3 times last week and I did some yard work, so pretty much an average week, but I am happy with my progress.

I will miss one session at the gym this week, but I should be making some of that up with extra walking this upcoming weekend, but that "might" be offset with a little more eating, since my daughter and I are taking my mom to Charleston for her 85th birthday. Big Grin

Nice progress, pRICE! I might be able to manage one dip but mostly mine are like rgG's (without the trip to the gym). I wish I had had a week like billb but mine was self-limited to 5.8 miles at 19.14 mins/mile plus a few more miles on the treadmill. I like to think something is better than nothing.

POMTL!

Also, dips are also great for working the chest (pecs).

That's the dips that have nothing to do with bowls and chips.
