Is FOX news a stealth Trump PAC?
#1
I don't watch FOX but I keep seeing ads on TV for a Trump interview and ads on the radio for "Trump will be on the program tomorrow. Don't miss it". "Specials". It seems pre-nominee he was on constantly and it is like he has his own PAC with FOX now. They seem to take his calls, present him on the phone or TV anytime he wants a voice-- FOX puts him on. "fair and balanced"?? Even Maria (financial early a.m.) seems to be leaning Trump in her questions of his son the other day.

I really like MSNBC's programing. I like Chuck Todd and I even find myself TiVoing Rachel Maddow! I haven't turned Left but this isn't a normal election. Still a Conservative but strange times make us turn to strange avenues.:oldfogette:

Nothing 'stealth' about it.

Chuck Todd is a conservative. But the real danger is that watching Rachel Maddow could turn you if you are not careful.

Well, she brings some points up worth thinking about but I doubt if it will turn me. I do like ideas to run around in my aging brain. I'm too old to become a card carrying lib except on some areas I'm in the middle not totally RIGHT or Left.

Fox was bound to be in the tank big time for whomever became the Republican nominee for president. It's what the vast majority of their audience wants and it works for their ideological agenda. They can be more beneficial to any Republican candidate for any level of federal office than any individual PAC could be.

I like Chuck Todd, too. He seems to know his shit and is pretty good at asking questions and analyzing political dynamics. I only catch him on occasion, though. The two shows I watch much more regularly on MSNBC is Chris Hayes and Rachel Maddow. I DVR them and usually end up fast forwarding through maybe about 1/4 to 1/2 of the segments and parts of segments (I'm not interested in watching political spokespersons saying almost entirely predictable things). Of the two, I think Chris Hayes consistently has more well-developed substance to his shows and Rachel Maddow has a lot more pizzazz and political-junky entertainment slant. Not that Maddow doesn't often have excellent substance, just that she tends to dally around getting to the point - which I'm sure many people kind of like about her show, but after awhile I find myself thinking "just get to the point already!"

Speedy's 'turning' reference was about being cute, not about political preference.

Political preference is a choice, a choice that is learned and can subsequently be changed, discarded or abandoned. Biological inclinations are neither learned nor chosen, they are simply about who and what we naturally are.

I think Chuck Todd has a little too high opinion of himself and does a poor job of trying to appear unbiased. I agree that Rachel will occasionally spend way too much time on an intro to a topic, but she will occasionally do a better job covering a topic on the intro than the 'expert' they have for the interview. The combination of Steve Kornacki, 'Lambchop' Hayes and Chuck Todd makes the channel a must watch for a couple hours a week for political junkies.

FAUX has long been a cheerleader for rightwing conservatives and Republicans. Not surprising that samintx thinks they are partly filling the shoes of a Drumpf PAC (and the attack ads they might buy).

For some reason which I no longer recall, Chuck Todd bugs the hell out of me. However, I gave up those Sunday shows eons ago and don't have cable, so at this point I can't think what it was that he did to tick me off. However, I don't care enough to give him a second chance.

For a while I thought you were not open to ideas from left of center. I like that you now express a desire to listen to both sides and engage your brain to make choices rather than fall for propaganda. Color me impressed.
