Endearing, sure, $tevie, if you find phony to be endearing, it sure is....

OTOH, here is the short version of your discussion....

Unfortunately they are overshadowing the honest, intelligent, and sensible people who have either resigned themselves to Clinton, joined Clinton with enthusiasm, or will be voting for someone else because of personal beliefs not because they are twits.

In turn, I would say that there are far more Sanders supporters supporting Hillary than there are dead enders for Sanders, that the dead enders do not overshadow the vast number supporting Hillary, and that I am seeing an overreach and overreaction from those that disparage the dead enders, who in many ways represent a necessary and inevitable segment of a vibrant society.

Translation: "We all need people to do dumb things to remind us not to take life too seriously all the time"?

Of course there are always the tail ends of the bell curve in every society; that doesn't mean that we have to endorse what they do as good behavior, or a smart idea. I'm not saying we should prevent them from voting or nullify their citizenship, sheesh. I'm just voicing an opinion about what they promote as a sensible response to the current political predicament. It's not.

If you hadn't been so assertive about your analysis of us Bernie backers, I'd be more forgiving of your assinine conclusions about what we (the Bernie backers) would think about you the pragmatic.

We were backing an idea more than a candidate. You on the other hand were backing a power play and candidate that epitomized that sort of politics, the same old same old.

Good for you, your candidate will win and with my vote but don't for a moment think it wasn't due to the incredible stupidity of the opposition. Hillary may prove to be a good or even great President, she will still be the luckiest nominee ever.

Yeah, I hear ya. But you don't vote for ideas. That's not what's on the ballot. You can keep supporting Bernie, the 'Revolution,' and whatever else you like. But when you're in the voting booth, you are given a very simple, practical choice. Voting 3rd party is practically equivalent to saying, "Voting doesn't work."

Edit: also, at this point, "my candidate" is the one who can keep Drumpf from becoming president. That is the primary goal that matters in this election. Make no mistake - I'm not a Hillary booster.

She would kick whatever ass showed up to compete. I know this. And not just defeat them. Wallop them but good.

While your thoughtful translation certainly shows talent, I was more thinking in line with Mill, Hume, Franklin, et al. 's various perspectives on the matter, perspectives that substantially differ from yours.

Can you grace us with some references to these great minds encouraging people to throw away their votes on candidates who cannot win? I must have missed those words of wisdom....
