iPhone 5 Won't Display Horizontally—Why?
#1
My wife was complaining that she couldn't turn her Calendar to show the horizontal grid. I checked, and nothing displays horizontally, not photos, nor Safari pages—nothin'.

I looked in Settings, but I don't see anything that would turn that feature on or off.

Something wrong with the phone?

EDIT: Power-cycling didn't help.

Hate to state the obvious, but it's not clear if you double checked that the rotation lock wasn't activated on the control center screen.

That happened to me once. I wish I had checked because it cost me the time to go to the Apple Store and look like an idiot.

If you swipe up from the bottom to open the Control Center, do you have a 5th red icon on the right called orientation lock ?

Well, who knew? It can't have always been there, or one of us would have screwed it up by now. Which of the multitudinous updates introduced that red symbol?

Thanks for the quick and telling responses, folks. I was afraid I would have to go to the Apple Store myself!

Apple, those sneaky devious bastahds tricked me into updating to iOS 10 a week ago.
I've spent all week undoing all this new shit, like lift to turn on, which only makes your phone flash on and off in your pocket.
They sent me an email text with my double security code. I just hope when ever I actually need it I'll remember WTF and WTF it is.

YAY, NO TRIP TO APPLE STORE NEEDED! I should have posted here first when I had the issue.

This place has saved me from making that dreaded "I'm an idiot" trip to the Apple Store more times than I like to admit to.
