Wi? Oh wi?? I think my wifi is finally dead on my dying iMac

Wifi is green in Network prefs. Turned it on/off/renewed DHCP and nothing. Rebooted modem. Safari looks like it'll load a site but stops after a 1/4 inch of progress bar. Oh well. I'm going to be getting a Mac Mini later this week!

RIP 2009 iMac and SuperDrive and hard drive and wifi........

I'd wait until after the WWDC. There are usually new product announcements. (No rumors about a new Mac mini so far as I've seen, but that's not necessarily meaningful.)

Kicks off June 5th.

I thought the dev conferences were almost entirely about software.

Probably another unwanted OS upgrade that makes iTunes even worse...

Sounds like you're looking forward to the new mac but otherwise the machine should be worth a little effort.

I would suggest waiting until the Minis are updated, whenever that is, but to anyone who must pull the trigger now I'd suggest a 2012 Mini at a discount rather than today's 2014-era Minis at retail price. Resell the 2012 if you're tempted by the new offering, when and if they ever come out.

I didn't like the 2014 Minis even when they came out - and that's what drew me to a Hackintosh. I have a love/hate relationship with it, and if I had to do it over again I'd have gone with a 2012 quad core Mini. Many, many, many hours spent futzing with the Hackintosh to confer full Apple compatibility...some I enjoyed, some I did not.

I think that's the route I'll be taking - going for a 2012 and then possibly reselling when new minis come out. So far the cheapest I can find is

$849
Mac mini 2012 fusion drive 16GB i7

$900
2012 Mac mini fusion i7 on eBay
