Speedy, Rick-o: Surviving the late Winter onslaught?
#1
We have freezing rain and sleet with 30 mph winds and 30 degrees. I'm typing this on my Kindle as the internet is out right now. I've got 4G LTE o the Kindle so I'm connected that way.

Utter crappyness here. We've had a potpourri of nasty stuff like rain, sleet, snow, ice, high winds, dragons, and aliens!

It's supposed to last until at least Wednesday. Nearly a week of this stuff in the middle of April.

At least we still have power.

We have over a foot of fresh snow since yesterday and it is not over.

It's been snowing on and off but the wind has been nasty for a couple of days. Not much snow, maybe four inches has accumulated. I'm waiting for it to stop to snowblow so I only have to do it once.

Post light on the deck:

Ice and sleet on the Jeep:

Still have the power on tho. But we were supposed to have a family dinner today and it was a go until the restaurant called to say they had lost power!

I've also seen that there are 340,000 power outages in MI with 300,000 out in SE lower MI (which includes the metro Detroit area).

Raining/freezing rain as I write. Supposed to get up to low 40s to melt this crap but my thermometer is still showing 32º where it's been since I got up this morning...

Pretty much the same here in mid-Michigan. This morning, the tv weather folk said it would get up to 39. Nope. According to my thermometer, 33 was all we could muster.

We got about the same amount of ice here as you, DP. The roads were fine until late last night/early this morning when it started sleeting cats and dogs. We got about a half inch of sleet accumulation on all the roads. The roads are much better today but we didn't get the melting predicted.
