We have 30yo vinyl clad Andersons. Some have gathered moss where the clads meet. As above.
I was thinking I'd scrape the mossy funk off, but I'd think it's still damp inside the clad. Is there anything I can treat that with that might help dry it out? Or just cap it with exterior caulk?

Ugh, that's why I hate anything clad. It hides what is happening underneath. I'm afraid if you just clean it and caulk over, you are just hiding the real problem. I believe you need to try to remove the vinyl cladding to see what is under it. I'm guessing lots of wet and moldy wood. If it's not too bad, the rot can be cut out and replaced with dry pressure treated wood. If you are careful, you may be able to reuse the cladding.
Not a difficult job, but can be time consuming. Good luck.

gave Andersen a call. hopefully they'll get back.
but apparently from other reading, a fairly common issue.
The vinyl clad was only formed then, but not welded like a fridge gasket.
They did make an amusing suggestion of replacing the otherwise working windows. Mmmmmmm like $15k with install. Don't think so.
