A pink (or maybe purple) mushroom - no, I ain't eating it...

That's two pics of the same mushroom - one came out pinkish and the other purplish (purplish was the true color)

Generally - but not ALWAYS - the brightly colored 'shrooms are telling animals to beware.

Don't eat it, but you might want to contact your local mycological society (aka mushroom hunters) for them to come out and ID. You never know, it might be an important find.

True, with a notable exception being the Indigo Milky Mushroom-




With it's smooth cap and coarse stem, the OP's mushroom sort of looks like a Wood Blewit Mushroom-
