A study in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences estimates that half of all Americans alive in 2015 were likely exposed to damaging levels of lead in their childhood. This exposure could have had a subtle but lifelong effect on people’s brain health, including lower IQ and cognitive function, the researchers say.

I'll politely request a change to the title. There's no good coming out of it.

I've torn down Buick V-8 engines where the lead deposits that precipitated out of the oil and collected in the oil pan and the lifter valley areas, and up on top of the cylinder heads, were downright scary. Once I knew what it was, I now wear nitrile gloves, and dispose of the sludge scraped into plastic jugs and taken to the local hazardous waste site.

Yeah, I know the title was meant to be facetious but I think it would be better to talk about lead exposure and the consequences without bringing partisan politics into it since it's just as likely that older liberals were exposed as much as older conservatives.
