I'm unclear on your point. Are you suggesting that divorce should be an awful, soul-destroying, destructive experience so that any attempt to find a way through it that involves happiness and other positive emotional outcomes should be ridiculed?

Marriage is the single biggest cause of divorce, Mark Twain once said.

Maybe.

But seeing how both men and women end up getting screwed in a divorce (and not by the hot divorce lawyer), knowledge is one's best defense, and offense.

Oh, and think of the children!

I think his point is that there is a magazine for it.

I'd say that the point is the Pollyanna-ish gloss on the magazine.

As steve, janit and mark twain pointed out.

and ...

I work in in media, although not printed media.
All the same.
Media, no matter what it says, is entertainment. I find nothing entertaining about the concept of divorce.

To me, this equates divorce to dinner recipes and what the best breed of dog is.

Say I'm cynical, I'll cop to that.

I've seen what divorce does to children. My wife and I have 'neighbor parented' a few children during their parents divorces. The damage to these children as Mom and Dad engage in Kramer vs. Kramer level combat is insane.

I understand that the opposite face of the coin of love is hate, but.. good grief.

I guess I'm super fortunate that my amazing wife has put up with my nonsense for almost 40 years. Or as she likes to say it.. "I'll never divorce you. I may kill you in your sleep.." And my response is "Please make it look like an accident so you don't get in trouble."

Honestly, marriage is for suckers.

I love my wife, but I know I'm a pain in the a** to live with. I would do it again.

But if I was a rich guy...I dunno.

CA has among the lowest divorce rates in the US but the highest population eligible for divorce so I guess if you're going to launch a dead tree mag in 2022, targeting it at your biggest market is polishing the right turd. After all, how many lawyers in the US are familiar with North Dakota's legal system compared to CA's or any other populous state?
