Best preppy clothier?

I'm getting into wearing sweater vests and such. Not a golf-type vest.

Where can a guy go to get good/affordable 'preppy' clothing nowadays?

I'm not really sure how to reply to your admission of wearing a sweater vest. Does this mean the fake Steve Jobs blog( http://fakesteve.blogspot.com/ ) will have to write a witty satirical take on your abandonment of turtle necks.

Wait...you are not actually wearing the sweater vest over the turtleneck. That's just wrong. First you wear that weird button up black shirt number at the last WWDC, with the buttons fastened all the way up to your neck, perhaps to simulate a turtleneck, and now this, this, this travesty.

Sheesh. And you were supposed to be the cool nerd.

Nordstrom and Brooks Brothers are excellent places to go preppy. Naturally both expensive. Penny loafers, no socks, blue button down shirt, khakis and sweater tied around neck="full Nordstrom" and can help you get into Sigma Chi.

Hey, I'm wearing a sweater vest today! Mine came from Land's End or LL Bean not really because I like to look preppy but because they sell clothes in tall sizes. I'm too broad for a men's large and too thin for a men's XL. Large tall sweaters fit me fine.

Notable fans of the sweater vest include New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine and Ohio State Football Coach Jim Tressel.

Can't you just get regular sweaters and cut the sleeves off ?

The you'll have a pair of those leg warmers for flash dancing

I can't bring myself to go into one of those stores since I'm not 'needy'.

I do, however, drop off a TON of stuff there all the time.
