Well, I've certainly seen evidence of it already. Less that a year ago...
1. 18 eggs were $3.29, today I paid $6.39.
2. Hood creamer used to be $1.89 and would go on sale for $1.69. Today I paid $2.29.
3. trimmed boneless chicken breast was $8.99, went to $9.99, then for the last two weeks it was up to $10.99.
4. Don't buy beef often, but I know it's gone up.
5. Store brand canola oil was $3.29 for 48oz., now $5.49

Just the beginning. This summer has been bad weather in many places, leading to a tail on all sorts of food commodities. By next spring, these prices might just be ‘normal’.

I have no real concerns about beef prices going up, means less consumption for a major greenhouse gas source. And largely unhealthy source of protein. We tend to eat it less than once/month or so, and we’ve moved to turkey or Beyond Beef etc.
