Lets discuss electric toothbrushes. Oral-B
#1
I'd like a new electric toothbrush. Use a battery (non-rechargable) Oral-B and it's Ok but want a rechargeable per the dentists recommendation. Anyone have any input on these? Do I want one with a smart iOS app that offers recomdations?
They are all on sale right now.

O Series 4 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush (What I'm leaning towards)

iO Series 3 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush

Oral-B Genius 6000

Very happy with the two-pack deal on Oral-B that I got here awhile ago. I think it was this one: https://slickdeals.net/f/14895982-2-pack...e-shipping

(These aren't the models you're asking about, but they are perfectly fine for my needs... I routinely use both of them on the "sensitive" setting, use them in conjunction with the app, but that's really about all... I don't need super-fancy settings or anything.)

Do you actually use the app? My soon to be 15 year old is not taking care of his teeth the greatest and thought about getting him one with the smart app for Christmas.

I started with oral-b and then went to sonicare. As best I know, there's ZERO proven difference between high and low end electric toothbrushes. They all move the bristles and thats really what does the job.

Perhaps brush head design matters a bit but those can be shared between high and low end. I assume that similar price points across brands perform similar.

Get what feels right for you.

Yes, I use the app... it's a little creepy because it does use the camera while you're brushing, but there's an option to not use the camera (which is of course then less accurate).

Looks like you got an awesome deal. Now leaning towards the iO Series 5 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush because it has another settings and the app tells you about your "zones" where the iO series 4 does not. Wife says "the simpler the better" for her so maybe I'll get myself a series 5 and her a 3 or 4.

The iO I have gets my teeth noticeably cleaner than the older model of the Oral B.

of course, the refills for the iO are maybe 2X to 3X the cost of the older ones.

I tried both types. The high frequency toothbrushes give me a headache.

I switched back to a regular manual toothbrush.

Which iO do you have? Or are they all mostly the same?

I always figured that a $200 Oral-B rechargeable electric toothbrush does about the same thing as a $20 Oral-B rechargeable electric toothbrush. We get the $20 ones and our dentist and hygienist tell us we're doing fine...
