like history repeating?!….when you have hiccups. Do you fix right away….???

….person near me, young person, has it…..been hiccuping for last 25 minutes (twice with mouth open)……


….doesn’t seem to care…..meanwhile bothering everyone in the area….


…...still hiccuping….

If its going on an hour, maybe it's a chronic thing for this person, and there's not much they can do. So they are just waiting it out.

Wait, you guys can just stop when you want to? I suffer from painful ones sometimes, and absolutely nothing stops them.

Have you tried holding your breath for as long as you can?
Supposedly they are caused by a CO2 imbalance. IIRC

All the tricks including that one (drinking water, using a straw, upside down, etc.) have never worked for me. My body isn’t normal, though.

I saw a gizmo on shark tank that supposedly cures hiccups. It was a breathing device that basically resets your diaphragm. For me, a teaspoon of peanut butter has always worked for me.

Any sort of irritation or infection in the diaphragm can cause hiccups. I had 'em for 3 days, went to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics which did clear it up by day 4 as I recall. NO FUN.
