A little help with a battery for a watch?
#1
I was given one of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Original-Penguin-...eature_div

The person doesn’t want to bother getting a new battery so she said that if I wanted to get a battery I could have it but for the life of me I can’t find out what battery it uses. Searches show sites that will replace it or show batteries for John Deere tractors!

I guess a question posed as, “What battery is used in a Penguin OP-3010 watch?” is somehow not understandable...

Take it to a jeweler, have them open it up, and see what it needs?

The two options are...

Open the back of the watch and pull out the battery to match it.

(Get the appropriate tool if you don't already have it. Do not try to open the back of a nice watch without the right tool.)

Or...

Do what 99% of the population does in that situation and bring it to a jeweler for a replacement. Nice thing about that: They'll warranty the new battery, and if you need the watch cleaned or want the glass/crystal-polished, they can take care of that stuff, too.

Also, if the watch is “water resistant” you have to have a special tool to reseat the seal.
Ask me how I know that. Smile

Sorry, I wasn't clear. There was no battery in it. I was given the watch because the owner didn't want to mess with it.

I'll check it out in the morning. Thx, all.

Ha! But I won't be wearing it in the water. I have my 1994 TAG Heuer for that...

Looking at the web site it appears they sell general clothing items and accessories, this is not a watch company. Who knows who made the watch for them.

Take it to a shop and they can figure it out or try different batteries until they find one that fits.

Or there may be a marking on the inside.

When you figure out the size, you can get them on eBay or Amazon.

You might be able to measure the battery space to figure out the size of the battery.

I thought that might be the case but the only printing inside is “no jewels”, “unadjusted”, and “Miyota Co
2036 Japan”, which I will investigate.

Lots of batteries in that size that fits the space.
