Did the 12 year old Seagate Drive work? The answer is...
#11
I've had several Seagate power bricks fail in the last 5 years.

I've never had a Seagate external.

Now I never will, that that I would have otherwise.

I had bad luck with their internal HDDs awhile back, and cut them loose.

A dying power supply is not an unusual issue, but it is often misdiagnosed.

I suppose not, on a global scale.

In my limited sphere of experience, it is, though.

That's to say I can't recall everyhaving a dead power supply, that I didn't kill.

Two MB supplies were killed by my tossing a jacket and sweatshirt on them, allowing heat to build up.

OWC to the rescue.

Another power supply died when I overloaded it.

That is it, over decades of electronic gadgets with power supplies, external or otherwise.

I hear of them dying in desktop computers from time to time, just not wall warts.

I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but I don't get around much anymore.

Glad you checked, saved the drive!

Save the drive, save the world!
