"Before I even arrive at the Oval Office, I will have the disastrous war between Russia and Ukraine settled. It will be settled quickly. Quickly. I will get the problem solved and I will get it solved in rapid order and it will take me no longer than one day. I know exactly what to say to each of them."

Super funny jest, no? That trump, what a cut-up.

the problem is MAGA does not care. MAGA will vote TRUMP even if he points a machine gun at them and shoots, they will still vote for him as he is shooting them.

As long as Trump hates the same people they do they will back him.

What makes people become that way? I almost don't want to really know, but it is baffling to me that people could have that much disdain for other humans.

Then when I consider my same feelings toward an administration that's screwing the counntry over daily, it starts to make sense that one could feel contempt.

Eh, there are a lot of people that are unhappy with their lives (often resulting from their own actions.)

As we’ve seen over and over again through history, it’s immensely appealing to have someone tell you your problems are actually because of the other.

A corollary is wanting to burn it all down so that everyone else is as low as you.

There are campaign promises made and forgotten.

This was not that.

This was a lie he told over and over, along with many others, because he knew what a lot of people wanted to hear.

And he's a bully.

The more power he got, the worse he got.

It'll continue till he's out of office, and then some.

So there's that.

I think it was less a lie than a boast from someone with a massively overinflated ego.

But we hear incessantly from his supporters that He does what he says he’ll do.

Did he end the war before ge took office? No. On day one? No.

Did he bring prices down on day one? Nope (though he claims to have - that one is a lie).

Did coal jobs come back? Has he made America great?

Did Mexico pay for a wall?

I disagree.

He knew full well that he had no plan, no concept, no chance of accomplishing this.

As such, it was a lie, not that it can't be used as a boast, but a lie nonetheless.

If this was his first rodeo, I might agree to less lie/more boast, but it wasn't.

Obviously, worse than his lying, is that anyone fell for it.

“No one in this world, so far as I know — and I have searched the records for years, and employed agents to help me — has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.”
