Wanted: email app that does not cross the streams
#1
I use Apple’s mail for my personal email. I want a second email app that will only check my work account. It will not aggregate or conflate my personal and my work email in any way. 100% separate forever. Suggestions?

EDIT: Forgot to make it clear I'm looking for an iOS app.

Does the email have its own web interface?
You could possibly just use that.

Safari : Mail
Firefox: Thunderbird

seriously, I never used it but I know Mozilla makes this app for a very long time.

EDIT: of check these Apps, I only know about the first 2, never heard of the other 4.

Thunderbird, it's not as slick as Apple Mail but it get's the job done, and if you chose to use it with multiple email addresses it will keep them separate from each other.

Acer,

Lots of options out there. I currently use Postbox. At home, Apple Mail for personal mail and Postbox for company mail. At my office, AppleMail for company mail and Postbox for personal mail. It does the job nicely. However, it was sold and discontinued. The new owner has replaced it with emclient.

At this point, I'm still using Postbox. I see no reason to switch to anything else including Postbox's replacement since it works nicely and is dandy.

I should clarify that I want an iOS app. I actually use Thunderbird and Apple Mail on MacOS in exactly this same way. But Thunderbird does not appear to have an iOS version...or am I missing it?

That change everything.

Just search "mail" in the App Store and there are about a dozen options coming up. Most providers seem to have their own specific App: Gmail, Yahoo Mail, etc. There are some general ones such as Outlook, mMail Box (they list several providers).

If the work or personal email is gmail, you can use the Gmail App for that and the iOS Mail for the other.

I am curious why do you use a different method at home and at work. Why not have a consistent workflow?

Thanks

Of the two, I prefer Apple Mail and its integration with the OS. Postbox, while nice, is more suited for secondary mail tasks. Personal email at home would be a primary tasks and is more suited to Apple Mail. Since handling office email at home would be a secondary task, it gets delegated to Postbox. The opposite is true at work.

I was looking at Betterbird for a bit. It's a fancier version of Thunderbird. Might have a nicer interface, etc.
