what kind of spam is this???
#1
I get a SPAM message, subject line says something about software, but the body is just some non-sense text, no URL, no EMAIL, nothing. So even if I want to contact them, I can't.

Then, I though this is just a "test" spam, if the message doesn't bounce, they know my address is valid and will send me even more spam (this time with URLs and such). I decided use the "bounce" feature of Mail.app, so it appears that my email is not valid. but the bounce message bounce back to me, because the email address they sent it from was fake...

Bottom line: this spam contains no URL, and it is not a test message. What's up???

sometimes it contains code, and an invisible 1 pixel image that is retrieved and displayed from a website that gathers your e-mail address, and logs it as a valid one.

Don't open anything you aren't expecting. On a mac you won't get a virus.trojan horse, but you can still lose control of your e-mail address.

Block images protects you from that, but far more often, it's just a moron working the spam and they got it wrong.
