#1
Wondering if anyone has bought one of these:

> 1 OWCUSB2ATA ATA-IDE-ATAPI to USB 2.0/1.1
> adapter with Power. Everything you need to Plug
> and Play a 2.5-, 3.5-, or 5.25- drive straight
> into your USB 1.1/2.0 port. Fast, Simple, no
> assembly required. GREAT for transferring data,
> etc!

How did it work?

Thanks!!

A link woulda been nice!
I assume it's the OWC device.

I bought this one with SATA also, for $16, not on sale anymore, works great.

Yes, it's OWC's. Here's the link: http://eshop.macsales.com/Search/Search....OWCUSB2ATA+&Manufacturer=&x=9&y=17

I bought the OWC model.

I think it should be a handy gadget, since I never knew what to do with my old drives and now I can keep "stuff" on them without buying additional enclosures.

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Thanks.
I couldn't find it on the site when I started this thread, thanks for the link.
Gene, or anyone-- how did it work? Can someone who owns and uses one report in?
Thx . . .

h' I can't tell you since I haven't gotten around to using it yet, but I felt it was so cheap and that it would be handy.

As far as I can tell, it should work the same as if the drive were in a USB 2.0 enclosure.

As I always say, "that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

I have a couple of them, they work well, though it's sometimes necessary to unplug/replug/hotswap the power and USB connectors to get the drive to show up. Also, make sure the drive is set as Master.

looks like a handy device if you do a lot of that

I've been fiddling with one and I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong-- thanks for any help.
Is there a switch somewhere that I'm missing? Is there any sort of LED anywhere that tells you if it's working?
Assuming it's working fine, is there any reason a drive shouldn't spin up when plugged in? I tried hard to work the power plug onto the drive(s) properly.
