Need a 13x19 inkjet w/ postscript
#1
Ok... I need to locate a GOOD POSTSCRIPT Inkjet that does 11 x 17 spreads... Anyone have any suggestions?

This is for a client of mine and seeing we have a nice canon color copier which has true postscript I'm a little clueless on what to recomend to them...

Oh, this will be hooked up to a Dual 2.0 G5 running 10.3.9.

Thanks!

or R1800, $550 (which i have) -- software is about $200 extra

do they have a budget? inkjet? not laser?

do you really need postscript?

Once you get the the setup all sorted, the Epson R1800 or R2400 + iProof PowerRIP works pretty well.

is the RIP available by itself?

I used to have a few different ones a long time ago, like T-Script and some other one with the word "Free" in it (don't recall right now, but I actually still have it somewhere).

They were processor nightmares.

Is it really that critical now ---- vs. rendering it as a PDF and printing it that way?

enlighten me!

I use iProof PowerRIPX with an Epson 2200 and it does an amazing job. You can get a list of printers that iproof supports on their website at: http://www.iproofsystems.com

I believe this is replacing a HP 1220 w/ HP Postscript RIP... I think their main printer is a HP 1700 w/ Software RIP... So, they want something similar to the HP1700 but possibly more efficient.

Thanks!

We have the earlier version that came with out Heidelberg proofiing system and it does a very nice job and works well.

Thanks for everyone's help... I think they are leaning twards the HP's because they had allot of issues w/ their last Epson... But, I gave them a list of ones along w/ information on the rips and told them to start reading up on them because I'm not making their decission.
