dust in iMac G4, how to clean?
#1
My wife has an iMac G4, the cute one with the round half-circle base and 20" screen. It's two years old or so. How do I clean the dust from inside it? When I clean the Mac towers, I just open them up and blow them out.

thanks,

roshi

open it up and blow it out, perhaps making sure the CD tray is open so that you can blow between the cracks.

ignore the dust

the fan comes on more than it used to - that is what led me, over the past couple of months, to start wondering why.

I am speculating that the increase in time with the fan blowing is because of the build-up of dust. But I have no idea, really.

You are probably right on the dust accumulation . . . with the condensed air can and the CD drawer open, blow from the vent holes on the top, and then blow from the CD tray opening. Repeat several times until you see no discharge of dust.

You can't get there from the bottom . . .

Take it outside to dust it off and read this...
