Anyone know how to force Shuffle to go to first track?
#1
For whatever reason, the shuffle KNOWS that I have spoken word tracks and has kept my place...but INCORRECTLY.

So, turning it OFF and then back ON just keeps me in the WRONG PLACE.

Is there a quick and easy TO THE TOP super secret button sequence?

I know, I know...BUY A NANO...Smile

Check the small card that came with the iPod Shuffle. They made it small and laminated so that you can carry it with you. It has all the magic button sequences and light signals.

When you are playing songs in order, press the >|| button (the play/pause button) three times quickly to go to the beginning of the playlist.

Thanks. But I do/did not have that card handy and the online Apple Shuffle manual that I found did not have it, either.

But, that still does not work.

Try pressing the play button 3 or 4 times.

Thanks but still nothing. Perhaps if I let the battery run out. ????

You need to do the 3x quick pressing of the Play button while the Shuffle is actively playing a track and while the Shuffle is in continuous play (not shuffle) mode.

I did. It just goes back 3 tracks, or 2 if the first press is into the the track more than a second or two.

It sounds the behavior it would exhibit if you press the "previous track" button 3x instead of the play button 3x.

The 3x play button push works for me consistently.

Sorry. I pressed the previous button 3-4x, the play button 3-4x, the next button 3-4x, etc. Still did not go back to the first track of the ripped CD I had started with. When I get back home, I'll re-sync it.

But for whatever reason mine is not behaving in that manner.

Make sure that iTunes is not set to randomly load the Shuffle from the iPod playlist you set up for it.

The Shuffle may in fact be going to the first loaded item when you press Play/Pause 3 times, but that's not what you think the first item should be.
