Reducing size of music recording?
#1
Last year sometime I recorded a few songs of a couple CDs into iTunes for putting on my shuffle. They were each in the 40-50 megabyte size range. Somehow I changed them from aiff to mp3's and to about 3 megabytes. But I don't remember how. i tried usint that SoundStudio program that came with the computer, but it didn't change the size or the aiff and the result sounded horrible to boot.

So I guess i need someone to tell me what I did. Too bad you weren't here.

The thought occurs that I had some demo program to do this with. Any suggestions?

iTunes. Advanced>Convert selection to mp3. If it says convert to a different file type then you can change it to mp3 in preferences.

iTunes Preferences/Advanced/importing> import using: MP3 Encoder> Control+click on the songs you want to convert to mp3 format. Easy as Pie.

Ah it's in preferences! I was just going to advanced in the bar at the top of the screen and that only has "convert to aiff."
Thanks guys!
