That's a very nice design. you can also see the memory installation setup. Both slots easily accessible. VERY nice!

Wow...thanks for the link. Very impressive. It's about time for Apple to do this.

With RAM and hard drive this easy to install, I don't know why anybody would order anything other than the base model (of any configuration) and then do the upgrades themselves (for much cheaper).

Yes... I just posted the Amazon price as my vote for best deal out there. There is nothing that can added as a CTO that you can't do yourself on a model ordered from 'zon.

What about combo drive to superdrive swap? That could be difficult, no? If that would be easy, then the $1099 Macbook is da bomb.

It is a Japanese translated by BabelFish, so it is kinda rough.

I've not read about the optical drive. And the CPU is not socketed like it is in the Mini.

What's the link say in a nutshell? My workplace is blocking that site for some reason.

Thanks.

It is a total teardown of a new MacBook, with pics and explanations of all the parts. Check it out at home, well worth bookmarking.

Apple is selling 1 GB (two 521 MB RAM modules) of installed memory online for $90, which is slightly cheaper than if you bought it and installed it yourself.

Of course, if you buy/install the RAM yourself, you can then sell the two 256 MB modules that came with your MacBook for a few bucks.
