Depends on where you work.
Let's just say they have no documentation and will need some screws and cables in order to install.

Didn't OWC have these for $133 recently?

Yes, sorta..
They were some type of 'media oriented' type drives. Something about when coming upon a bad sector the drive would just pass on it. Supposed to be great/fast for video, but it doesn't seem too appealing for standard computer usage. Add shipping to the OWC drive. $5-ish there.

Um - the quickview drives don't corrupt/leave bad data. And in computer use, operate with the command set as any SATA drive.
And yes - we still have them for $133.99. ![]() http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Maxtor/3H500F0S/

I almost ordered a "QuickView" drive yesterday, because the price seemed so good.
But then the strange "QuickView" name scared me away. So, what exactly is a "QuickView" drive, and how does it differ from the standard, slow invisible drives?

Don't be shy, SeattlePhotog, click one of the links ...
QuickView 500 includes the following benefits: What I want to know is, what's the difference between SATA I/III and SATA II? And SATA 3GB? I'm assuming my lowly 2.0 G5 tower could get by with the $133 drive?

My QuickView from OWC arrived today. I'm waiting until it warms a little more before opening the package (to avoid condensation) and using it.
I will be using it to replace my stock 160GB boot drive in my 1st generation 1.8 dualie G5.

mine is working fine in my dual 2.0 G5. So far.
