Indianapolis Public Schools close because there are not enough bus drivers.

While I don't encourage partying until you can't work the next day, it is better to cancel school than have potentially hungover or still partying bus drivers and parents to be driving kids to school impaired. Better to not make a bad situation worse.

Here in MI, the busses wouldn't start anyway and almost all area schools closed. Lucky break for the drivers. Unfortunately, (pRON, you're familiar with this) I had a shoot at 6AM Monday. Had two drinks during the whole game and crashed pretty much after it was over. Also, the temp was -4º and the windchill was -15º when I left the house.

Local schools closed for the second consecutive day here in the Chicago burbs due to the cold.

Most of the city of Indy was off work yesterday anyway - I doubt anything productive got done.

Schools were already on a 2 hour delay due to sub zero temps and wind chills

Last year the Pittsburgh Public Schools were closed the day after the Super Bowl for the same reason.

This year, it was merely the cold. Apparently, the new (low sulphur) diesel has a higher sludge-point.

Maybe if they were paid more they would have more of an incentive to work.
