[quote spearmint]Nordstrom and Brooks Brothers are excellent places to go preppy. Naturally both expensive. Penny loafers, no socks, blue button down shirt, khakis and sweater tied around neck="full Nordstrom" and can help you get into Sigma Chi.
Yeah, never been to a Brook's Brothers. There's one near the apple store.
Sigma Chi - no way. I think that's where my wife did a "Jello Jump". Probably pretty close to lafinfil.

even though, and I understand your opinions, I just don't feel right. I will continue to donate my goods, though.

Just for the trivia fun, ditto the nopers on Sigma Chi. Those guys weren't the preps, they were the pretty boys. (I have some gay friends who still call them Sister Chi on account of all the closeted folks there.) The preps were the Betas (Beta Theta Pi). Old money there. Sigma Chi = new money. They were more of the Sprocket look...you know, Eurotrash...not trying to be insulting, believe me, if I could've afforded the threads those guys had, I would've gladly worn them. Me, i was also shopping at SalArmy, etc..
This from a middle-class guy who worked to pay for college and membership in a Regular Joe fraternity...with elements of ALL of the above and more on a campus that had one of the largest Greek systems in the nation.
As for prep stores, ditto the others, and you might also try J. Crew, Land's End, LL Bean and occasionally you can find cardigans in the old man section of major dept. stores. Also, if you have a Loehmann's or SteinMart they are pretty good discounters of this stuff. I secretly enjoy a cardigan myself from time to time, though never around my neck. Ha!
"1983" was the best comment I've seen here in a while, LMAO.

Betas-uh, puppy rumor at yours, too?
Largest in the nation WAS Ohio State I thought. I was at the 2nd largest at the time.
