Any car rental deals?
#1
I screwed up for a Florida Vacation. I haven't rented a car yet and the prices have went way up since I last looked.

Any coupon or deal sites for Car Rentals?

The prices I have found so far are $500 plus for a midsize for 7 days and 16 hours.

Stupid me for waiting.....

example: $209 for Dodge Stratus in Ft. Lauderdale for 8 days, more if you get it at an airport location. I'm cheap so i usually go to the closest non airport location to save a few bucks. Smile

Florida is a big place...and you did not give much detail.

I just did a quick search in Orlando via Orbitz.com for 8 days beginning 3/17.

Prices ranging from $158 to a top of $333.

Seems to me that $500 shouldn't be much of a challenge to beat unless you're vacationing in the metropolis of Immokalee.

I do priceline for car rentals. And I really low-ball the bid. Works every time. For example, I am in NJ on a quick 3 day trip where I have a compact from Hertz for $17/day, which is really good for the NY area.

Just did a quick hotwire.com search for you

http://www.hotwire.com/car/results.jsp?l...c:0:search

results are about $60/day. If you do priceline.com and bid maybe $35-40 per day, that would only less than $300 for a week.

Also, try www.kayak.com for good deals.

Went with Priceline, Saved some money but its still high. My fault for not booking a month ago. They have hit the gouge the customer while we can time for the Holiday.

$38/day for a midsize $375 for 8 days with tax and fees.

Tried for a full size but no go.

yeah, there's this idea called "supply and demand". You're hitting Orlando in the peak of Spring Break.

flight prices are horrid as of 3 days from now i think. My little brother is flying in on a planned trip but tickets purchased last minute... horrid flight times and horrid prices because of spring break.
