iLife07, Leopard, Mac up-to-date
#1
I just ordered a MBP 17" refurb for my Dad and was wondering if refurbs are usually eligible for a Mac-up-to-date type of thing.

I just read some rumors stating that iLife07 and Leopard may be out next week (I know, I know, they're just rumors).

I don't so much care about Leopard for him but would like to get the latest iLife.

Any thoughts appreciated. TIA

Yeppers, refurbs are eligible, within ten days of purchase (that was as of the Tiger release), but I don't believe that Tiger will be released within the next sixty days.
But, my gardener's cousin's brother's sister's mom who works as Steve Job's cleaning lady said that 16 core MacBooks are due to be released tuesday!

Alpha, so you concur with what Joe said:
"So until Leopard is official, any machine bought will not entitle you to a discount."

Cap'n Rusty was talking more about the OS and I'm more interested in iLife (for my Dad).

Where did a "Cap'n Rusty" post in this thread?

I try not to make any statements that could be held against me later, but, offhand, I'd say that if iLife 07 isn't released between the time you ordered that refurb and the time it's delivered... You're probably out of luck for a free upgrade. Apple has a pretty small window in the first place, and I don't think they'll be releasing iLife 07 until Leopard is on the move, or they'll release it at the same time. iLife is a pretty inexpensive app, considering all it does, so it shouldn't hurt too much to upgrade, although, as somebody else mentioned, it might require Leopard.
