Can't uninstall podbridge
#1
Somewhere along the way I installed this thing called podbridge. I think that I had to do it to view some network news podcast. Well, it seemed harmless until the last itunes update and now it gives me a prompt to update to a newer version of podbridge on every startup of iTunes and I think that it may be responsible for some funky behavior in iTunes.

Uninstalling and re-installing does not help. I tried the uninstall instructions on their web page (which pointed to files that didn't exist - wrong filepath) and removed anything with the podbridge via spotlight. But, you guessed it, the iTunes menu item and message at startup still plague me.

Any way to remove this poorly supported piece of .....?

okay, so you removed these three files

/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Podbridge Plugin.plugin
/Applications/Podbridge.app /Users/
$USER/Library/Preferences/com.apple.podbridge.PodBridge.AFpreferences.plist

but have you restarted your computer to check to see if it's still in iTunes then?

Yep, removed those and some more that I found with spotlight. Restart did not help. The podbridge icon still appears in the menu of iTunes and the upgrade prompt launches when I start iTunes.

They must have another file that they aren't mentioning that I can't find.

OK, found the offending files. Strangely, they showed up in spotlight only after repairing permissions. They are not the same files that are listed.

Example: there was a folder in /application support/podbridge and the pref file was in the root library not in the user library.

Seems like these guys not only cannot keep up with the itunes updates, but they can't update their FAQs on their own website either.
