why would i need a USB connection on my car stereo...?
#1
in the market for a new stereo and the usb connex are very tempting, except i cannot think how exactly i would be using this. would a portable HD connect to the thing and would the head unit be able to read the MP3 or AAC files? what other uses are there?

I would guess your first thoughts are correct. Could even connect a thumb drive.

Yup. Thumb Drive. Load a 2gb flash drive, plug it in when you get in the car, instant access to enough music to drive all day without repeats.

well, if that is true, that is a great reason to buy one. how does the head unit sort the files, assuming it does recognize them?

Oh --- now you want it to be as easy to use as an iPod, too?

It ought to treat the drive just like an MP3 disk. You can play by folder or random order.

Maybe you could read the brochure instead of speculating?
