Well, the classic solid wood door and a pair of 2 drawer file cabinets was discussed to pieces a while ago. I've used that and I've used laminated kitchen countertops installed on the wall with a cleat and a shelf-frame as well. Both worked equally well.
Where do your tastes lie ? Classic ? Bauhaus ? Georgian ? Euro ? Glass ? Chrome ? funky ?

![]() ![]() OK, more serious. There are, I think, some really neat ideas here: http://www.becausewecan.org/taxonomy/term/27/0/ As clean as your Apple: ![]() As for myself, I can't type any of my MR forum posts unless I'm seated at this: ![]()

I have something simple at home. I got it off Craigslist - it is originally from IKEA.

I use one of these, just to be different, picked up on ebay for cheap:
http://www.generaljims.com/shop/product.cfm?p=164 Found a vintage barristers chair on craigslist that goes great with the desk. Will soon be moving all my radio equipment to the desk, so I will be in the market for a computer desk again.

![]() Offi Desk There a hidden storage flap on the back of the desk for hiding cables or hard drives. Note the huge keyboard drawer that is actually regular desk height. It essentially gives you two desktops. Worth the price in my book. 3p

Offi Desk 3p Wow. Beautiful. I want. It's a sizable investment, though. http://thefurnituredomain.com/d2-3060.ht...id=d2-3060&channelid=FROOG

It's a sizable investment, though. True, I've had mine for 7 years.. and have not once thought about needing to replace it etc. I tend to buy things that solve the problem so well that it doesn't have to be addressed for a long time. This is probably a lifetime desk set up for me. My personal rule of thumb on purchasing is to consider how often you use the item. or I don't scrimp on, office chairs, office desks, mattresses . 3p 3p |
