That makes sense. I'd still shy away from RAID 1. It corrupts just as easily as a single drive.

I'm not sure that you'd want automatically triggered copying since it would slow down any copying that you personally needed to do.

SuperDuper is AppleScriptable. You could set up cron to run it every few minutes.

Maybe something can be set up with Automator but I'm not familiar with the nitty gritty of it.

Well there is this one from Sans Digital that does RAID 1 that's designed as a NAS/Media Server: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6822110015

It does not have FW or ESATA but it does have Gigabit Ethernet which should be plenty fast for what your doing.

Pretty much every gigabit NAS I have seen tested is, at best, about the speed of a USB 2 drive.

I have one of those too! Since I use it as a RAID 0, I had forgotten all about it's other abilities!!!

!!!

I was looking at the other model because it supports SATA drives and has other connectivity options. Didn't realize it did RAID1.

Plus it does "Single Drive (2 drives installed / 2 separate drives mounted)" which is what I think I'll end up doing. I think I have a winnar!

What's sad is, I originally went to the OWC site first to try to find a solution.

Yeah, they need to clean up their search function. I was looking for a FW800 case for a 2.5" drive to recommend to someone and it took me about 10 minutes to find it.
