This sound terrible but I didn't even realize he was still alive.

DARN!
He was a great influence to many musicians but I especially like the way the British group the Animals' Eric Burton expanded on Bo's unique style.

R.I.P.
Right now I'm recalling more songs *written* about Bo Diddley than what he himself performed.

Aww. He's still in my rotation. Not to mention his Academy Award calibre performance in "Trading Places." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYpoLg5vOxQ
May his heaven be filled with all of his ripped off royalties.

Who is George Thorogood going to copy now?

One of the highlights of "High Grass Dogs" (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers Live at the Fillmore) is
Petty & Bo sing "Hey Mona" and trading licks. Bo has to be in his early 70's (1999) and is having the time of his life while Petty is grinning ear to ear too. Hard to tell who was having the most fun. Thanks for the music and the wide influence you cast Bo. |
