As far as I can tell, the end result is the same. And they're both from OWC, so they're both under lifetime warranty, so I'd say go for whichever's cheaper. For a slightly better price, check out their current special for xlr8yourmac.com readers:

We only sell top quality memory and we feature the two Mac Pro memory lines because there are customers out there that have specific requirements and comfort zones.

The same customers that will buy the Samsung Factory original 2GB modules that cost over twice what our top quality Micron based 2GB modules go at for the MacBooks, etc.

Learned a long time ago that the best thing is to give the customer what they want. We do what we can to educate our customers about the choices, but it's still up to the customer.

All our product is put through extensive testing - we have several Mac Pros testing memory here every day... we have all the models too, including the latest 8-core. We don't mess around.

When you buy our 'Apple Qualified' product - getting fully tested, top notch product, that we stand behind.

When you buy our 'Apple Certified' product -same deal, except put through testing and manufactured on an Apple certified line.

Me personally - I'd save the cash cause it's all good and all Lifetime Warranted.

Also - BOTH our Qualified and the Certified offerings use the SAME IDT AMB as well. That Advanced Memory Buffer, which is essentially a processor for the memory, is a very important piece. Some out there build with an NEC AMB... and that NEC AMB has issues in certain configs and I am pretty sure it is why Apple revised their memory spec/part numbers with the latest MAc Pro 8-core line reintro and did new part numbers as previously they had speced supporting the NEC and I know Apple original modules were being build with both NEC and IDT AMBs... but the new spec came out with IDT only. We saw a specific issue with NEC based units in the XServe also...

One thing for sure - we know Mac Memory. Smile

Do a search here. I think someone asked this before and there was some good information given.

The price differential is so slight that I opted for the Apple Certified for my new MacPro, mostly because of all the problems that I had with my G5 tower.

With the G5, Apple support had me remove all the non-Apple memory, as if that would be the source of the problems that I was experiencing. This was, even though the Apple Hardware Test showed no problem with the memory.

I figured that even a little tilt in the direction of meeting Apple's standards would give me some peace of mind.

In the meantime, I'm back to having the same double mouse click problem that I had with the G5 Sad

Exasperating!
