Got my mtn bike. A manly ride, procured in a manly fashion.
It's a mid-'80's Univega, the Rover Sport. Rigid frame (insert manly comment here) Cro-Mo triple butted (-which may not sound very manly, but bike guys Know it is), Shimano SIS (-which may not sound... etc), blood red & black-fade paint scheme (well-chipped), wheels that weigh like 20lbs each, studly enormous knobbies, covered in old grime and cobwebs, has bad dog-like model name. All the Right Stuff.
And most manly of all: yanked by my powerful arm from the trash, for Free.
It works, rides solid as a rock, and I like it -surprisingly. I'm jumping curbs all over the place, I can leave it stored outside, and I don't have to worry about it.
And it made good on my previous vow here to find a ride for <$200. [manly grimacing smiley]
